Welcome to my new portfolio website. It has been a while since I was last online. Initially an experiment to exhibit my work as a personal project. The first online portfolio was successful. but after a few years online. I was unsure as to which direction to further my photography. So I made a harsh decision not to renew the annual hosting costs and to temporarily go without a website.
At the time it was merely a hobby and I was still learning various subjects from landscapes to portraits, and occasional wedding photography commissions from friends. The end result was a website that seemed cluttered with too many categories that did not connect and potentially looked like a jack-of-all-trades website.
I liked the design of my first site. But after comparison with other photography websites. Realized that it lacked a central theme that could connect the different varieties of photography together. So I decided to take a step back and refocus. Researching and spending time in between work and part-time education. Viewing various photographers' work by reading books and watching YouTube videos. After reviewing my own work so far. I came to the conclusion to focus primarily on landscapes as a central theme for building a new website.
My early work was developed from exploring the Norfolk coast in the early 2010s. I have always had a thing for the coast. Possibly a throwback to my childhood days visiting the seaside.
Norfolk is a neighbouring county with a vast 90-mile shoreline. A mixture of different terrains, littered with small coastal villages, Staithes, and small towns. Plus numerous heaths, woodland, and the beauty of the broads inland. Makes the county very appealing to practice and hone my craft.
Initially, my early work was a bit hit-and-miss. Most of my photography was done in the late afternoon or very early evening. However discovering camping, was a game-changer and I was able to stay longer, to experience the golden hour, and to photograph sunsets and sunrises.
Over the years with further exploration of the Norfolk and Suffolk coastline. I have generated a lot of imagery from landscapes alone. So naturally decided to dedicate my new website to the East Anglia Coast. Demonstrating the extraordinary beauty of this area of England.
In time I potentially plan to use my platform to advertise exhibitions, and craft fairs in and around East Anglia and sell various pieces of my work online. I also want to show the continuous evolution of my photography by slowly expanding into a range of subjects. Attempting to tell a story and replicating the atmosphere and feel of each location explored. By documenting the scenery, wildlife, and people who live in these remote charming areas that I return to every year.
I hope you enjoyed my new website. Here is a sneak peek at some of the latest images that were taken throughout 2023 below.
Please enjoy.
